The Lamastus family has been producing coffee at Elida Estate in Boquete, Panama, since 1918. Their coffee is grown under unique ecological conditions—shade-grown, bird-friendly, and cultivated at high altitudes in the cool microclimate of the Baru Volcano region, surrounded by the pristine Volcan Baru National Park rainforest.The journey began when Robert Lamastus, originally from Kentucky, started planting Arabica coffee at 5,600 feet (1,700 meters) on the volcano’s slopes. Even then, it was recognized for its exceptional quality. Today, the Lamastus family, now in its fourth generation, continues this proud tradition by growing, processing, exporting, and roasting their rare estate coffees, celebrated worldwide for their superior taste.
