Finca La Marquesa began in 2015 with the dream of exporting Ecuador’s specialty coffee to the world. But the roots go deeper — Edilberto León, father of CEO Ximena León, spent over 60 years in the coffee trade.Inspired by her father, Ximena and her husband Hubert planted 3 acres of specialty coffee in San Pedro de Vilcabamba. It wasn’t easy — after years of learning and using organic methods, they finally produced high-quality beans now shared globally.Together with their six children (four involved in the business), they run a café and a processing plant called KAFFEEMARQ, located near the famous Cerro Mandango mountain. Their son Hubert Jr., a certified Q Grader and taster, leads quality control.Finca La Marquesa also supports local farmers, helping them export coffee at fair prices. Committed to Ecuador’s coffee future, they continue sharing knowledge and passion across the region.
