Eduardo, the eldest son of the Fernandez family, the third generation of coffee farming, has converted a farm called Zacatin into a coffee farm since 2017 and planted specialty varieties such as Geisha, SL-28, Sudan Rume, and Tabi. Eduardo has worked carefully to source seeds for the collection of coffee varieties that he now grows. Eduardo’s charismatic personality and interest in non-traditional coffee tree varieties connected him with like minded producers, leading to the exchange of knowledge and seeds.

What is TABI?
A variety obtained by crossing Typica, Bourbon and Timor Hybrid, obtained by Cenicafe. First released in 2002, it is similar to Typica and Bourbon, being tall and with long branches. Its name Tabi means “good” in the Guambiano (a native Colombian tribe) dialect.
